On behalf of the Hungarian Association of Technology and Science we inform you with sorrow
and pain that professor emeritus Rusznák István died on 20th March 2019 at his hundred years
of age.
Professor emeritus Rusznák was the head of department of Organic Chemical Technology of
Budapest University of Technology and Economic from 1971 through his retire.
He was the founder of the TMTE (Hungarian Association of Technology and Science) and
president from 1974 through 1985. He was the president of IFATCC from 1980 through 1982
and the vice president till 1990.
He was honoured with Kossuth Prize of Hungary in 1954 for elaboration of continuous
bleaching of cotton cloth.
The British Association of Colourists honoured his work and awarded with Gold Medal.
Until his death he actively participated in the science life with regular publications,
presentations and research works.
He worked always with full energy and spiritual freshness.
We lost an iconic and unforgettable personality.
